It is with heavy hearts that the family of Eleazer Nathaniel Holder, Jr announces his passing on December 20th, 2025, at the age of 70 in Providence, Rhode Island.
Born in Bentol City, Careysburg District, Montserrado County, Republic of Liberia on September 1, 1955, to Traffic Judge Eleazer N. Holder, Sr. and Mrs. Edith C. Williams (Holder)9, Eleazer built a life grounded in love, perseverance, and faith. He immigrated to the United States from Liberia in pursuit of new opportunities and a brighter future for his family. Settling in Providence, he recognized the power of a connection with God, community and hard work, and his journey inspired many family members and friends to follow in his footsteps.
Known as a hardworking man, Eleazer approached every responsibility with determination and integrity. Beyond his work ethic, he was a friend to many—generous with his time, welcoming in spirit, and always ready to bring people together. He will be fondly remembered as the life of the party, someone whose laughter, warmth, and vibrant personality filled every room he entered.
Eleazer Holder leaves behind a legacy of faith, determination, joy, and connection. His memory will live on through his children, family, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and infectious spirit. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
He was predeceased by his parents Eleazer Holder, Sr. & Edith Williams, his siblings Mary (Tennama), Prince, Roslyn, Charles, Selcon, Christine, & Eleazer.
He is survived by his children, Malcolm, Rasheed, Andrade and Ibilolia (Jaimen); his four grandchildren, his siblings, Winifred (Isaac), Tenneh, Richard (Anna), Famata, Valdemar (Claudette), Aletha, Selcon (Elijah), Grace, Everett, S. Raymond, Elijah, and Frank. He will be remembered fondly by the Holder family, the Julia Williams family, the Hoarce family, the Giddings family, by dear friends, and the Liberian community in Rhode Island and beyond.
A thanksgiving service for his life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church, 747 Broad Street, Providence, RI with burial to follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. The family welcomes all who wish to honor Eleazer’s life and legacy.
