Passed away September 28, 2026
Today, we remember and celebrate the beautiful life of Dolores Howard.
Dolores faced difficult seasons with remarkable courage and determination. Her generous heart, resilience, and willingness to speak honestly were cherished parts of who she was. Through her example, she showed that perseverance means continuing forward, even when the road is difficult, and she inspired those around her with her strength.
She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Public Administration from the University of Liberia in Monrovia. Throughout her career, she worked in social services with various organizations, dedicating herself to helping others and making a meaningful difference in their lives.
Kind, generous, and full of personality, Dolores brought warmth and a distinctive presence to the lives of everyone around her. She was also wonderfully direct – the kind of person who would tell you exactly what she thought. Her family could say with a smile, “If you wanted a secret kept, Dolores might not have been the person to tell.” That straightforward nature, shared with such spirit and sincerity, made her unforgettable and deeply loved.
From an early age, Dolores also has a special love for hats. Her late grandmother affectionately gave her the nickname “Miss Hat,” a name that captured one of the little things that made Dolores uniquely herself. It became a cherished reminder of her personality, her sense of joy, and the happiness she found in something as simple as a beautiful hat.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Kaymah; her two grandchildren, Kendia and Rejoice; her mother, Maude Hill Pearson; her stepfather, Samuel B. Pearson; and her siblings, Jamesetta and Shirley Howard, Olatunji, Samuel III, Brandeleen, Veronique, Sonnie, John, and Samuel Pearson IV. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will hold her memory close and continue to feel grateful for the love she shared.
We remember Dolores for the generosity she gave so freely, the honesty that defined her, her distinctive voice, and the many precious moments we shared together. We will carry forward the impact she made, the lives she touched, and the small joys – like her love of hats – that brought smiles and warmth to those who knew her.
Misshat you are deeply loved, dearly missed, and you will always be remembered.
Rest peacefully, your memory will forever live on in our hearts.
Until we meet again.
