Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
It devastates us, The Smith, Williams, and Totimeh families to announce the untimely death of our beloved, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and Cousin Dekontee Caroll Smith.
She was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, July 11th, 2023, at the Washington Township Hospital in Sicklerville, New Jersey.
Dek, as she was affectionately called, was high spirited, and had a zeal for life. She did not allow fear to stop her, but instead made brave choices so that she didn’t have big regrets later in life. She was a devoted mother to her two boys and looked forward to what the future holds for them. She touched the lives of everyone she encountered and was an active member of Christ Care Unit Missionary Baptist Church. She certainly lived life to the fullest.
She is predeceased by her Grandfather Samuel Africanus Williams, Grandmother Caroline Totimeh Dillion, Grandmother Suzanne Mitchelle Koenig, Grandfather General Franklin J. Smith Sr., Grandmother Ruth Bryant Smith, and her sister Lournice (Sissy) Smith.
She is survived by her children Darrien Smith, and Curtis Nagbe, her Mother Joetta MamieJoe Williams, her father J. Lorenzo Smith, and her stepmother Ciatta Barclay-Smith.
She also leaves to mourn her siblings, Sampson Roberts, Faith Smith, Estelle Smith, Lourenzo Smith, Eugene Smith, Michelle Smith, Alphonso Grant, and Ayodele (Ayo) Cisco, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives.
She will forever be missed. May her soul rest in perpetual peace.
