It is with profound sadness that the Perry, Gibson and Russell families announce the peaceful homegoing of our Patriarch, Deacon Isaac E. Perry Sr. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 5:40 AM in Crofton, Maryland. He was 92 years old at the time of his death.

Deacon Perry, who was affectionately called “IE”, was born in Cape Palmas, Liberia unto the union of Isaac E. Perry and Ellen R. Gibson. He was the oldest of his siblings, of which, Stanley M. Perry, Edwina Perry, Hadelia Thompson, Ellen Perry Nyepan and Eva Perry Blamo predeceased him.

He will be greatly missed for his generosity, wise counsel, love and dedication to his family and church.

Deacon Perry’s passing and memories will be cherished by his wife of 67 unbroken years, Rev. Sarah C. Russell Perry; his sisters, Angeline Perry and Esther Kargbo (Rev Sam); his children, Irener Perry-Phillips, Dr. Isaac E. Perry Jr.(Anne-Marie), Gerald Perry (Luegi), Calvin Perry, Sarah Telo (Rev Henry), Audrey Perry, Arthur Perry, Lakpor Boahndao (Yammah) and Raddie Perry Weeks (Monroe). His youngest son, Stanley C. Perry Sr. (Gloria) predeceased him in March of 2024. Deacon Perry’s legacy also includes 26 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, his church family, a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life

The Celebration of Life Service will take place at Epworth United Methodist Church, 9008 Rosemont Drive, Gaithersburg, MD, on Saturday, January 18, 2025

Viewing – 10AM

Service – 11AM

Interment will follow immediately after the service at All Souls Cemetery in Germantown, MD
