The Howard, Horace, and Mcilwaine families announce with profound regret the homegoing of Deacon Frank Augustus Howard Jr., our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. This sad event occurred on Sunday February 1, 2026 in Charlotte, NC USA.
The late Deacon Frank Augustus Howard Jr. was born on August 20, 1950 unto the union of Rev. Frank Mento Howard Sr., and Letetia Georgia Horace-Howard in the city of Edina, Grand Bassa County, Republic of Liberia.
The late Deacon Frank Augustus Howard Jr. was predeceased in death by his parents, Rev. Frank Mento Howard Sr., and Letetia Georgia Horace-Howard. Siblings: Deacon James F. Howard Sr., Minister Mildred Howard Karpeh, and Hon. Wilmot N. Howard Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His beloved wife of 45 years Mrs. Ella M. Howard. His children: Elvelina Howard-Prince (John), Daylvin McIlwaine (Susie), Donyell McIlwaine (Kesha), and Frank Augustus Howard III (Debbie). Grandchildren: Jasmine Morrow, Takili McIlwaine, and Paris McIlwaine. Great Grandchildren: Mikey, William, and Destanie. Sisters-in-law: Judy Howard, Sarah Long, Cynthia Leung (Phillip), Naomi Washington (Willie), Geraldine Coleman (Elbert), Carolyn McIlwaine. Brothers-in-law: John Karpeh, and Paul McIlwaine (Margaret). Three nephews, eight nieces and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
Please Note: No personal tribute at the wake and funeral service except immediate family members. In lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice of the Carolinas or The Frankie Mae Foundation.
