Deacon Edward G. Tolbert

It is with deep sadness that the Tolbert, Hina, DeShield and Kaine families announce the peaceful homegoing of our beloved father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and cousin, Deacon Edward G. Tolbert. Daddy, Pa, Poppie, Uncle Edward, Pop Tolbert as he was affectionately called transitioned to be with his Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of Friday, December 6, 2024 at the residence of his daughter, in Conyers, Georgia. He was 86 years old.

Mr. Tolbert leaves to cherish his memories his children, David G. Tolbert, Barbara Tolbert Hina, Marian Tolbert, George Tolbert, grandchildren, great grandchildren, two sisters, Sadie DeShield and Waysay Gehmeni; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives from the Tolbert, Hina, DeShield families and friends in Liberia, and the United States.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents of blessed memories Mr. Johnny Wennie Gehmeni, Thelma Gbobah Gehmeni, Rev. Dr. William Richard Tolbert, Jr. and Victoria A. Tolbert, and his daughters, Eugenia Tolbert and Cecelia Tolbert.

May his gentle soul rest in perpetual peace. All who knew and loved Edward will remember his quiet and kind spirit.
