It is with deep sorrow and sadness that the Leake-Sumo and Lake family announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Camillia Christina Leake-Sumo. She entered the gates of Heaven, surrounded by family, on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Her faith in Christ remained unshakeable and never wavered, even up until her final hours.
She attended BW Harris Episcopal School, Ricks Institute, Heald College – Fresno, and Strayer University. She received a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and went on to work as a tax specialist and tax accountant. Her love of numbers was a significant passion in her life, outside of dedicating her life to the Lord.
In her passing, she moved on to join John Leake Sr. (father), Florence Lake-Leake (mother), Ponu Leake (daughter), Victor Entsua (brother), Olu Hughes (brother, Viola – wife), John Leake
Jr. (brother), Marisa Hughes (sister), Florence Eddy (niece), Benjamin Lake, Sr. (uncle), and Giliah Quansah (granddaughter).
Camillia Christina Leake-Sumo is survived by her husband, Bishop Sam Sumo; sisters, Edna Leake-Vandi, Stella Bridgette Leake-Berger (husband Franz), and Viola Diggs; children, Lovetta Willie, Julia Quansah (husband Ishmael Quansah), Jerry Sumo (wife Ebony Sumo), Caroline Eylmann, and Magdalene Eddy; grandchildren, Gabrielle Derosier, Joshua Derosier, Joaniah Quansah, Camillia Quansah, David Quansah, Eli Quansah, Jordyn Sumo, Morgan Sumo, and Donovan Sumo; and cousins Prince Lake (wife Oseh), Elizabeth Lake, Herbert Lake Jr. (wife Menunatu), Michael Lake, Agatha Lake, Faminda Lake (husband Moisa), Maude Williams, and many more extended family.
