Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
It is with profound sorrow that the Hutchinson family, and many relatives announce the passing of their beloved mother, Arimentha V. Hutchinson—affectionately known as “Mom,” “Mama,” and “Auntie Mush.” She entered eternal rest with Jesus on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Arimentha Hutchinson was a devoted mother, sister, grandmom, auntie and loved one. Her favorite sayings were —“I love you,” “I love you more,” and “I love you always”— which captured the boundless affection she gave so freely.
Arimentha was a pioneer and staunch family advocate. Arimentha was known for her kindness, intelligence, resilience, joyful spirit, and faith. A proud Staten Island resident for nearly five decades, she leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, service, and a commitment to uplifting others. Arimentha is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
She is lovingly survived by:
Her children: Linda Reeves Wilmot, Boimah Massaquoi, Jetty Karpeh and Mercy Hutchinson. Also, children-in- law, Lincoln Wilmot and Jessica Jewels Massaquoi.
She is lovingly remembered by her many treasured brothers, sisters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of extended family and friends, who will continue to praise Jesus and honor her memory.
