Devoted husband, father, grandfather, Apostle, Evangelist, Pastor, and global ministry leader—Dr. Archbishop Joel Laurore, 85, peacefully departed from this life on Thursday, January 19, 2023, surrounded by his family in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Joseph Joel Laurore was born on January 21, 1937, in Anse a Galets, La Gonave, Haiti, to his parents, Joseph Laureus Laurore and Limena Matheus Louis. In 1961, Joseph Joel Laurore attended Calabar Theological College in Jamaica, West Indies, and went on to complete his theological studies at Wake Forest University School of Divinity in North Carolina. Upon graduation from the seminary, he accepted the full-time call as a missionary to Liberia, West Africa.Joseph Joel Laurore started his mission work in Monrovia, Liberia, as a superintendent at Lot Carey Baptist Mission, where he met his beautiful wife and life partner, Loretta Bleah Johnson. Shortly after they were married, Pastor Joseph Joel and Loretta were called into full-time ministry, and he became the senior pastor of the Philadelphia Church in Liberia, where he served faithfully for 14 years.
In 1981, as directed by the Lord, Pastor Joseph Joel Laurore and his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he and his wife established World Revival Temple, a pastoral and evangelistic work preaching the message of Jesus with the focus on a Christ-like life and ministry. In 1986, Pastor Joseph Joel Laurore was consecrated a bishop, and until his death, presided as an archbishop and overseer of bishops, pastors, churches, and ministries worldwide.
For the past 60 years, Archbishop Joseph Joel Laurore has preached the unadulterated message of Jesus Christ throughout the nations. His passion and dedication to the work of God were evident in his life and ministry to others. He was the loving father of four beautiful daughters and the grandfather of 14 grandchildren. He leaves a lasting global impact and legacy of a true Christ-like life and ministry. Archbishop Joseph Joel Laurore accomplished his mission and finished his race.
He leaves to mourn his loss to his daughters, Pastor Christine Laurore (Will), Michaelle Holbird (Greg), Jorette Gilkes (James), and Immanuella Senatus (Jeanaude), grandchildren; Valencia, Grahamia, Joely, Y-shua, Joel-Michael, Ezriel, Gabrielle-Nissi, Zion, Jiselle, Jeanade Jr. Majesty, Zylirah, Fabianca, and Kimberly; his siblings Josue Laurore, Ornan Laurore, Naboth Laurore, Appolos Laurore, Pauleine Laurore Errone Darbouze, Jonas Louis, Paulonne Joseph, Jonas Louis, Josie Polexy, Blondel Louis, Abner Louis, and a network of sons and daughters.
Archbishop Joel Laurore was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Laurore, his parents, and 19 brothers and sisters.
