“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine… Heir of salvation, purchase of God. This is my story, this is my song. Praising my savior all the day long.”
It is with profound sadness that the Perry and Russell families announce the peaceful transition of our beloved Rev. Sarah C. Perry on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 3:00AM after a brief illness at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, MD. Rev. Perry was surrounded by family as she entered the pearly gates. She was 88 years old at the time of her death.
Rev. Perry was born in Monrovia, Liberia unto the union of Rev. & Mrs. Joseph G. Russell. She was the tenth of eleven children, all of whom preceded her in death.
Sarah was married to Deacon Isaac E. Perry SR. for 67 unbroken years when he passed away in December 2024. This union produced several children including Irener Phillips; Dr. Isaac E. Perry JR. (Anne Marie); Gerald Perry (Luegi); Calvin Perry; Sarah Telo (Rev. Henry); Audrey Perry; Raddie Perry Weeks (Monroe); Lakpor Boahndao (Yammah) and Marvin Nyanson (Doris). Sarah has joined her youngest son Stanley C. Perry SR. (Gloria) who passed away March 2024.
Mother Perry as she was affectionately called by many, was cherished and has left a void in our hearts. She will be greatly missed.
Her legacy will be remembered by two sisters, Angeline Perry and Esther Kargbo (Rev. Sam); nine children; thirty grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; CBC family; a host of friends and all those she nurtured who regarded her as their mother. We were happy to share mama with all those she came in contact with.
This announcement will be updated as soon as plans for Rev. Perry’s celebration of life services are completed.
May her soul rest in perfect peace and light perpetual shine upon her.
