If this amended agreement, with Mittal (Mittal’s 3rd amendment), is soooo good for our country, why is it shrouded in so much secrecy?? Do we need a “leaked draft” from the Daily Observer to tell us how this amendment “Undermines Boakai, the Legislature, and Entrenches Rail Monopoly”?? Heck no!
Look, we all know that people in our legislative and executive branches have a history of accepting bribe money to grant special favors to foreigners, in concession agreements, going all the back to President Charlie King time (remember Firestone in 1926??). So no one was surprised to see our senators, making a “secret trip” to Yekepa, to meet with Mittal management! (Re “Senators Secret Trip to Arcelor Mittal Sparks Uproar”, Daily Observer online, September 22, 2025)…But do you think these senators were “invited” to be wined, dined, and get their pockets lined for nothing?? Please…
But shouldn’t your common sense tell you that something fishy is going on when read that your senators are making “secret trips” to Yekepa, to have meetings, behind closed doors, in smoked filled rooms?? Hint: the Mittal’s amendment is up for renewal, and they (Mittal) want special favors from our senators. In return for ratification, these senators will get their “cold water” behind closed doors!
But, before that happens, we need to do our due diligence, and look at the terms and conditions of this amended agreement, with own two eyes!..In West Point, where I grew up, we don’t buy pig a bag!… Um, um, I mean no disrespect, but, but, can the President or the senators make the Mittal amendment a public record, before ratification??
