With heavy hearts and profound sadness, the Harris, Paasewe, Gibson, Menjor families announce the transition from labor to rest their beloved wife, mother, sister, cousin, aunt and grandmother, Mrs. Carlnette Famata Paasewe-Harris. The evil hands of death snatched her on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island, New York after a brief illness. Her departure has left our families and loved ones with a big void only the Almighty God will fill. Carlnette lived a life helping others. Her kindness and generosity were not only limited to her family and friends, but to everyone who crossed her path, including strangers. Carlnette saw goodness as integral part of life’s purpose and lived a simple life with humility. Her sense of humility and service was exemplified at the Catholic Garden Society of New York where she worked for twenty-four years up to her retirement.

Carlnette leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 49 years, David K Harris, six children: Emma Z Gbai, Tom Franklin Gbai, Jr., Rennie K Harris (Tasha), Tomah L Harris, Famata D Harris, and Leona M Collins; nine grandchildren: Antonia E Gbai, Genesis J Temple, Lillie Grace Temple, Lester Gbai, Carlnette Gbai, Emmanuel Gbai, Bianca A Johnson, Alexander N Collins, and Alvin N Collins; several siblings in the USA and Liberia; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Carlnette will be deeply missed, but will forever remain in our hearts. Rest eternally and may the heavenly light perpetually shine on you.
