With profound sadness, the Johnson, West, Ketter, Seton, Smith, and Gray families announce the peaceful homegoing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Nellie A. Johnson-West.
Nellie passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Jeremy V. Ketter; her daughter, Massa Ketter; her grandson, Tonieh Toyer; her sisters, Sister Jandora Johnson Bemah (Jusu) and Naomi Johnson; her brothers, Quelmi Johnson (Elsie), Augustus Johnson (Janjay), Theophilus Johnson (Sylvia), Shepherd Johnson (Whorway), and Maxwell Johnson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in both Liberia and the United States.
May her soul rest in perfect peace.
