It is with profound regret that the Varfley, Hall, Tolbert, Dennis, Scott, Van Pelt, Padmore, and Holder families announce the sudden passing of their wife, sister, mother, aunty, niece, cousin, Clavenda Hall-Varfley. This sad and shocking event occurred on Sunday June 16, 2024, at the Boston Medical Center, Boston, MA. She was 67 years old.
Clavenda is survived by her loving husband, Mr. Edwin Varfley; two sons, Ansumana Kenneth and Caesar Varfley; three sisters, Elaine Hall-Nemah (Dr. alphonso Nemah), Shirley Hall, and Christine Hall-Thomas; two brothers, Dr. Melvin Hall (Saundra Hall), and Wesley Hall (Mietta Hall), many nieces and nephews, many beloved relatives, and numerous friends and colleagues in Liberia, the Unites States, and the diaspora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Williette Tolbert-Hall and Caesar A. Hall Sr., and her brothers, Norwood Hall and Caesar Hall Jr.
Clavenda will be greatly missed by her relatives, friends, her beloved Ricks Institute Alumni Association (RIAA), Cuttington University Alumni Association, the Bentol City Association, and the Liberian community in Brockton. She leaves behind a legacy of love, benevolence, fundraising, encouragement, and inspiration to us all. Her memory is forever etched in our hearts and minds. May her soul rest in peace until we see her again.

The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday July 2, at 9 – 11 AM ET at Messiah Baptist Church, 80 Legion Parkway, Brockton, MA 02301.
