I was called away and went to be with the Lord to stay. Although this passing left a void in your hearts, do not grieve for me. Rejoice, for I now rest safe in God’s keep. Until We Meet Again, think of the cherished memories we shared. Hold me close within your hearts and there I will dwell, to walk and guide you through your lives.
With great sadness, the Murray, Mator, Bernard, Fleming, and Johnson families announce the death of their beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and family patriarch, Mr. John Sumo Murray. This sad event occurred on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the UPMC hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA surrounded by his loved ones.
Daddy, as he was affectionately called, was born in Zorzor, Lofa county, Liberia, West Africa. He was a Registered Nurse by profession and took pride in catering to the healthcare needs in communities in which he lived and the country at large. He was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Woodcamp, Paynesville, Monrovia, Liberia. Upon immigrating to the United States, he became a member of Advent Lutheran Church located in York, Pennsylvania, USA.
His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife of forty- five years, Mrs. Marie B. F. Murray of York, PA, USA, children, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends both in Liberia and the diaspora.
