With profound sorrow, we announce the departure of Frankie Nathaniel Cassell or as he is affectionately and widely known O. G. This man, who graced this world with his presence until January 17, 2024, passed away at the John F Kennedy Hospital in Liberia. Frankie, the cherished youngest child of the late Mr. Arthur B. Cassell and Ms. Cora A. Grimes, leaves behind a legacy of love and connections.
In mourning, he is survived by his wife Fatumatta Binta Bah-Cassell, his children; Shelly A. Wright-Thompson, Fulkra-Jojo, Arthur, Clara-Christoph, A. Jao, Marcus, and Franklynne, his grandchildren Jamelia, Lancelot, Joshua, Terrence, Sizi, Angel, Khaya, Simeon, and Edward. Frankie’s siblings, Clara, Ernestein, Douglas, Christian, Fulika, Agnes, and Small Clara, also join in grieving his loss. He will be missed by close relatives Tarina, Mardia, Evelyn, John, Madea, Magnus, the mother of his two daughters Lynne and her siblings Mahdea and Kanda, and his nieces and nephews Chipo, Tsitsi, Lauren, Ayun, Eric, Claudia, Desi, and Pierre.
Countless other relatives, friends and students, mourn the loss of a dedicated and committed educator for his long service in the scientific community in Liberia. As we reflect on the profound impact Frankie had on our lives, let us keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. May he find eternal peace and may the light he brought to the lives of many continue to shine brightly in our memories. Gone but never forgotten.
The wake keeping and funeral for Frankie will be held at Trinity Cathedral on February 2nd and 3rd respectively. The wake will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday and the funeral will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday. All tributes except for family will be paid at the wake, no exceptions will be made.
The burial will take place immediately following the service at Grace Church Cemetery in Clay Ashland. The Repast will follow at The Rose Allen Hall in Brewersville.
