
With deep sorrow and gratitude for a life of extraordinary service, we announce the passing of Sister Rosalita Roberts, the first Liberian Catholic Sister and one of the first Catholic Sisters in West Africa. Sister Rosalita died peacefully at the age of 88 at St. Joseph Villa in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Born Maria Johanetta Roberts in River Cess, Liberia, Sister Rosalita dedicated her life to teaching and nurturing generations of students in Liberia and abroad. She was renowned for her compassion, especially in her tireless care of the poor and disadvantaged young people.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Rose Zoegar, and a host of family and friends who cherish her memory and legacy.
