With heavy hearts, we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Laura Smith Mappy on Wednesday, 29th October 2025. This sad and mournful event occurred at the residence of her daughters on Duport Road, Paynesville, Monrovia, Liberia. She was 82 years old. She is survived by her two daughters Lorraine Diggs Kpator (George Kpator) and Judy Irene Diggs, grandchildren Charlene Phelps, Ayele Gbenyon Clemens (Cyril Clemens), Fanoraine Dohr, J. Twaplayfano Dohr II (Dymond Lakay) and Amaris Diggs and great grandchildren Archly Somie, Gift Coleman, Desmond Collins, Cyrillyn Clemens, Cymia Clemens, Cyril Trey Clemens, Josiah Amari Dohr and Damiri Elijah Dohr. She is also survived by her god daughter Yeatoe Gloria McIntosh and a host of relatives and friends all of Monrovia, South Sudan and the United States of America.
Removal:
The remains will be removed from the Samuel Stryker Funeral Parlour on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. and taken to the Grand Masonic Temple for the Eastern Star Funeral. Thereafter, the remains will be taken to Trinity Cathedral, Broad Street.
Wake keeping:
The wake keeping over the remains will be held on Thursday, 20 November 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Trinity Cathedral, Broad Street
Funeral Service:
Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Cathedral, Broad Street
Internment:
Internment is at Bentol Memorial Gardens, Bentol, Montserrado County.
All tributes are to be paid during the wake keeping on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
