With profound regrets, the Brumskine, Railey, and Browne families announce the passing of Lucille Perdita Railey-Brumskine, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, Pastor Worthy Matron, Queen Esther Chapter No. 1, Order of Eastern Star, Monrovia, Liberia, Lay Eucharistic Minister, Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church, Brooklyn, NY.
This mournful event occurred on Monday, December 1, 2025, at her home of over 40 years in Brooklyn, New York.
Left to mourn Lucille’s passing are her children, Madia, Deconte (Milton), Gerald (Bindu), Aaron, Teneze, Joe, Andrew; her grand and great-grandchildren, her sister, Mary, her brothers, Carlos and Jimmie, nieces, nephews, cousins, her godchildren, her lifelong friends, including Izetta Roberts Cooper, Agnes Cooper Dennis, and Neh Dukuly-Tolbert, and many other friends and well wishers.
Mom was pre-deceased by her parents, Cordelia Browne and Brig. Gen. Charles E. Railey, Sr., her sister, Catherine Railey, her brothers, Charles E. Railey, Jr., and Spencer D. Browne, Sr., and her sister-in-law, Greta Railey.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Viewing & Visitation from 8-9am on Saturday, January 10, 2025, will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 155-15 Jamaica Ave, Jamaica (Queens), NY, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 9am on Saturday, January 10, 2025, at Grace Episcopal Church.
Immediately following the service, interment will take place at Springfield Gardens Cemetery, 121-111 Springfield Blvd, Laurelton, NY 11434.
