With deep love and heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Marie P. Harris‑Alieu, who transitioned from this life on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Marie’s grace, strength, and generous spirit touched all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and service will continue to shine through the many lives she impacted.
Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Alieu; her cherished parents, Amos Harris and Mary Shaw‑Roberts; all her siblings: Elizabeth Flowers‑Gibson, Nora Moore-Hazel, Aronah Moore‑Marshall, William Wilson Sr, Thomas A. Roberts, James Harris, Louise D. Harris Sr, and her twin brother, Adolphus M. Harris Sr.
To her many nieces, nephews, great‑nieces, and great‑nephews, she was affectionately known as Aunty Wede—a name that carried warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her presence was a source of comfort, her words a source of guidance, and her spirit a source of joy.
Marie’s life was a testament to faith, family, and compassion. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
