With grieving hearts while giving thanks to God, the George family mournfully announces the sudden passing of Carlton Yaito George, Sr. in his 70th year on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at his home in Staten Island, New York.
Carlton Yaito George, Sr. was predeceased by his beloved mother Agnes George, and his sisters Joyce Garnett and Rozyna “Zeke” Garnett Dunn.
His impact will remain ingrained with his family and friends and remembered as that quintessential gentleman, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. An upstanding member of the Staten Island community, Carlton Yaito George will be fondly missed for his love of cars, candidness, humor, style and fashion (bluff boy). He was classy, full of life, hardworking, kind, a great friend, always smiling, and easy to get along with.
Yaito was a loving and caring family man, and will be missed by his devoted partner Linda Keller, his son Carlton Yaito George, Jr., his nephews Lionel Dunn, Travis Dunn, Ansu King and Ahmed King; his George cousins of Paynesberry, Grand Bassa County – the heirs of: the late Rev. James E. George, Sr., the late John George, the late B. Kerlie George, the late Rev. Peter Amos George, Sr., the late Louise Mydea George, the late Annie George-Gongar, the late Eden C. Reeves, Sr., the late Monroetta Phelps-Weeks, Elizabeth Lovest George-Jones, and a host of other relatives and devoted friends in the United States and Liberia. He will also be missed by his lifelong friends from Snapper Hill, Carroll High School, Providence Baptist Church, St. John’s Episcopal High School and Cathedral High School.
Funeral services for Carlton Yaito George, Sr. will be held as follow:
Saturday, November 22, 2025 – 9:00 a.m.
First Central Baptist Church

Interment to follow immediately thereafter in Staten Island.
