The Nelson and Coleman families announce the sudden death of our beloved Alvin Delano Nelson “Putu” on January 9th, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Colston Nelson; his grandmother, Mary Deborah Carter Coleman Dixon; his siblings, Daniel Colston Nelson III “D. Cols” and Thelma E. Nelson “Muffet”.
Our beloved Alvin is survived by: his mother, Claudia Augusta Coleman Nelson; his children, Alvino D Nelson and Colston D Nelson (Nia); his grandson, Aksel Nelson; his siblings, Dr. Dani Nelson, George O. Nelson, Jameille Nelson Ross, David Coleman and George Makor; his aunt, Joanna Eva Coleman George(passed away a week and a day later); his nephew, Rj Osagyefo Ross and niece, Pascale Ricki Ross; his ex-wife, Elizabeth Nelson Cameron; cousins; 10th street family; friends; and colleagues.
