The Yancy, Gibson, Barnes, Tubman, Harmon, and Dorley families announce with profound sadness the homegoing of our beloved patriarch the Hon. Counselor M. Fulton W. Yancy, Jr. This sad event occurred at his Sinkor residence on August 31, 2022.
Counselor Yancy leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife Bartu Dorley, his children: Freddie (James), Elizabeth, Fulton, III, Fatima, Richard (Kaymah)), Vashti, Bendu, Francis (Carrie), George Hilary (Beatrice), Adanna (Elizabeth), Mansfield, Georgette Attia (Alpha),Sarah Elizabeth, Isaiah, Olive and Peace, his siblings: Sarah Elizabeth (S.E.) Yancy, Emma Andrews Flemister and Anthony Raymond, several grand and great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including his cousin/brother Senator William V.S. Tubman, Jr. Allen N. Yancy, III and Randolph Cooper. He was predeceased by his parents: Former Superintendent of Maryland County Hon. Mansfield Fulton W. Yancy, Sr. and Olive Gibson Andrews, his children: Debbie Yancy, Edmund Ellis Yancy, Helena Yancy, and Catherine Atta Yancy Badawi, siblings: Mildred Yancy, Adolph Yancy, Harold Haggerty and Wilmot Stubblefield.
Hon. Yancy served his country in several capacities. He was the first Commissioner of the Bureau of Maritime Affairs. He later served as the first Managing Director of the Liberian Sugar Corporation (LISUCO), Resident Circuit Judge, Maryland County, County Attorney of Maryland County and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia.
