The Neal, Dyer, and Campbell families announce with profound sorrow the homegoing of our beloved matriarch, Mother Ethel Fairy Campbell-Neal, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Born in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia, she lived a dynamic, trailblazing life rooted in steadfast faith, dedicated public service, and an unshakeable commitment to her family and community.
A LIFE OF SERVICE & LEADERSHIP
For 32 years, Mother Ethel served as a distinguished educator, inspiring generations of young minds with wisdom, discipline, and grace. A true pioneer, she shattered glass ceilings by becoming the first female Commissioner of the Township of Virginia, Liberia, leaving an indelible mark on governance, civic development, and women’s leadership. Beyond her public duties, she served faithfully across numerous Christian ministries and civic organizations, always embodying the heart of a servant leader.
As a deeply loving matriarch, Mother Ethel was an anchor to her family and a pillar of strength to all who knew her. Her life was a vibrant testimony of divine grace, compassion, resilience, and unwavering hospitality.
