Charlotte Ann “Quenda” Edwards, a devoted, mother, grandmother, friend, and pillar of her faith community peacefully passed away on July 16, 2026, following a long illness, at her nursing home in Brooklyn, New York. Charlotte’s unwavering faith guided her approach to marriage, motherhood, and life.
Born on November 29, 1949 in Harper City, Maryland County, Liberia, Charlotte was educated in Liberia, Germany, and the United States; ultimately receiving her Associates Degree in Secretarial Studies from Interboro Institute in New York City at age 36. It was her work with individuals of special needs and the disabled that proved to be her professional calling, for some three decades.
A devoted wife to Ralph Edwards, Sr. for 47 years, until his passing in 2020, she was also a committed mother, grandmother, foster mother, dedicated social worker, and a respected maternal figure in her community.
Charlotte is survived by her four sons and three granddaughters.
A celebration of her life will be held on August 8, 2026 at United Christian Assembly Church in Brooklyn, New York.
