As our beloved native land celebrates 179 years of independence, these timeless words from our beloved patriotic anthem, The Lone Star Forever, continue to inspire every Liberian to love, protect, and serve our nation.
Our Lone Star is more than a flag. It is a symbol of freedom, resilience, hope, and the sacrifices of those who came before us. It reminds us that despite our many challenges, Liberia remains our common home, a nation worthy of our loyalty, service, and prayers.
The powerful declaration, “Desert it? No, never! Uphold it, forever!” is not merely a chorus to be sung. It is a solemn pledge that every Liberian should embrace. It calls upon us to reject division, corruption, violence, drugs abuse, and hatred, and instead build a country founded on integrity, justice, hard work, and love for one another.
As we commemorate this historic day, let us renew our commitment to making Liberia stronger than we found it. Whether we serve in government, business, the church, our communities, or within our own families, each of us has a role to play in shaping the future of our Republic.
May our Lone Star Flag continue to fly proudly over a peaceful, prosperous, and united Liberia. May God richly bless our leaders, especially His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. with wisdom, courage, and discernment. May He bless our young people with hope, opportunity, and purpose, and inspire every Liberian to place country above self, working together to build a stronger, more just, and more prosperous Republic for generations to come.
As our national leaders celebrate Liberia’s 179th Independence Day in Buchanan, I pray that God continues to bless them with wisdom, strength, and good health as they serve our beloved Republic. May He grant them safe travels on their return journey and continue to guide Liberia toward lasting peace, unity, and prosperity.
