The Reeves, Kemokai, Jones, King, Freeman/Fahnbulleh, Massaley and Yhap families announce the passing of Sando Comfort Kemokai Reeves in her 88th year. This sad event occurred on Friday, April 3, 2026 at her home in Laurel, Maryland.
She is survived by her children Verlaine King Jones (Paul Boto Jones), Miatta King Neal, Samukai Samuel King (Leona), Rev. Frederick Richelieu Reeves (Ruth), Eugene Ashong and Tito Totsman Etoty; her extended children – the Yhap family – Constance (Kedrick Brown), Jimmy, Amanda (Bai Paasewe), Ian (Katy), Joy, Genevieve, Eric (Paulette) and Grace; numerous siblings; brothers-in-law Emmanuel Nuku Reeves, Sr. (Bunchie) and S. Roy Reeves; sister-in-law Joybell Reeves-Yonkendeh; grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and a host of relatives in Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Ma Comfort, Sister Comfort, Aunty Comfort, Mama Gran will also be missed by the many children (they regarded her as grandmother) in Maryland who she nurtured and tutored until they started preschool.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
