It is with deep sorrow that we, the Kotee, Gborplay, and Mangou, families, announce the passing of our daughter, sibling, niece, aunt, and cousin, Aderline Weahlay Kotee Johnson, affectionately called “Addie”, who departed this life on March 26, 2026, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Addie will be remembered for her sense of humor, resilience, kindness, language enthusiast, and deep love for her family and friends.
Addie was predeceased by her parents, William Z. Kotee and Etta Gborplay.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her stepmothers, Ma Mary Kotee, Ellen McGill, beloved aunty, Doris Kotee Nyanson, Uncles, Augustine Kotee and Pastor Moses Gborplay. Her sisters: Gayduo Forkpah, Solarley Kotee, Lea Kotee, Pea Kotee, Oretha Kotee, Kathy Lamah, and Alstona “Waka” Sikeley-Doe. Brothers: Ernest Forkpah, Michael Forkpah, George Dunbar, Solarley Kotee, Roland Kotee, Johan Soe Kotee, Kwaiwo Kotee, Cyrus Kotee, and Darius Kotee. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whose lives she touched deeply
