It is with heavy hearts that the Collins, Boyah, Andrews, and Neal families announce the sudden passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin, and Deacon Charles Collins, a man of unwavering faith and kindness. He peacefully departed this life on January 12, 2026, at his residence in Duazon, Monrovia, Liberia. Dea. Collins was a beacon of love and warmth, touching the lives of countless individuals through his generosity and compassion.
His jovial spirit earned him the affectionate nicknames,’ the humble deacon,’ ‘the good papay,’ and ‘American Boy.’ As we mourn his passing, we find comfort in the promise of Revelation 21:4, which reminds us of God’s promise to wipe away all tears and erase the pain of death, sorrow, and crying.
A man of unwavering commitment to his Christian faith, he demonstrated his devotion through strict adherence to biblical teachings. His routine included daily Bible study and an appreciation for gospel music, alongside a passion for bringing people together and caring for his extended family and community. Education was paramount, and he ensured all household members attended school regularly. His memory will live on, cherished by those who experienced his joy and humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Charles Toah Collins and Mary Bartee. He is survived by his faithful wife of over 50 years, Mrs. Ida B. Collins. His beloved children: Mr. Charles T. Collins Jr., Dr. Benetta Collins-Andrews (Amos deceased), Ms. Charletta Collins-Neal (Filmore), Mrs. Charlyne Collins – Wright, Winston Tyee Collins (Valerie), Mrs. Jackie Collins (Lee); his brother Milton Collins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, friends in Liberia, and other parts of the diaspora.
