It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caroline S. Jangaba who transitioned peacefully at Atrium Hospice in Kannapolis, North Carolina on January 23, 2026, at exactly 4:45am.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Nimely and the Nimely family; children John Frank, Juala Smythe, and Jumah Frank; grandchildren Dimetri (Pookie) Frank and Nadia Frank; great-grandchildren Zakariyah (Zak) Frank and Nasir (Deuce) Frank; sister Ivy Johnson; and brother Fahnmusa Christian Jangaba.
She was predeceased by the following: Her siblings Albert Jangaba, Hazel Simpson, Elwood L. Jangaba Sr., A. Tambakai Jangaba Sr., Priscilla Clarke, and Spencer Kpana Jangaba Sr.
As the child of Dr. S. Jangaba M. Johnson (deceased) and Jenneh Kamara (deceased), Caroline grew up surrounded and admired by a multitude of extended family members that included the Konowa, Mabonde, Metzgar, Dogoseh, and Golafale families.
She was a cherished and loving aunt to a host of nieces and nephews; a caring cousin; and, an exceptionally thoughtful friend. Her warmth, humor and generosity were unmistakable.
She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel loved, seen, and valued.
Her motherly embrace, her infectious laughter, and the unmistakable light she carried will remain with us forever.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
