Be still and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
With hearts full of sorrow yet anchored in faith, we navigate the path forward following the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Marinda Yancy-Cummings.
Though this is a time of deep grief, we are comforted by the promise of Scripture: “So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” — John 16:22.
Our faithful servant was called home on December 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family and faith.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Harrington Cummings; her daughters, Asha Cummings and Camille Cummings; her beloved grandchildren, London Swaby and Brielle Sanders; her mother, Dorothea Evans-Gordon; her sisters, Fametta Yancy-Carr, Kulah Gordon and Gbindu Gordon; her brother, Bill Yancy; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 31, 2026, at Christ Church in Bronxville, NY.
We give thanks for a life well lived and trust in God’s promise of eternal peace.
