Psalm 29: 1-2 (KJV)
“Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.”
“To God be the glory, great things He hath done, so loved He the world that He gave us His Son, who yielded His life an atonement for sin, and opened the life-gate that all may go in.”
With profound sadness and deep gratitude to God for his life, the family of Rev. Robert Johnson Graham announces his passing. This sad event occurred on November 30, 2025, at his home in Lanham, Maryland, USA, after a protracted illness. He fought a good fight. He finished the race. He kept the faith. His Lord called him for his crown.
Rev. Graham was ordained an Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Grand Bassa County in 1988 by the Right Rev. Adam J. Richardson. He faithfully pastored the St. Paul and Mt. Ashton AME churches in Monrovia and Cape Palmas, and served as the Liberia Annual Conference Evangelist and Statistician. Rev. Graham also worked at the Ministry of Finance in the Republic of Liberia and later inspired students as a literature teacher at BW Harris Episcopal High School (2003-2004), before moving to the United States. In the USA, he served devotedly on the Ministerial Staff of Mount Zion AME Church in Manhattan, under Rev. Dr. Jo-An L. Ownings. Later, Rev. Graham was invited to serve as pastor of Little White Chapel by the Wayside in Silver Spring, Maryland, from March 2018 to May 2022, until illness interrupted his ministry. As a dedicated student at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC, from August 2018 to May 2022, he completed a master’s degree in theology, persevering with God’s help even during his final semester of illness.
Rev. Graham was a devoted Pastor and soloist, skillfully leading his congregation as God directed. His humility, gentle manner, quiet strength, and loving spirit will be deeply missed. He is survived by his beloved wife, Monconjay C. Graham, as well as sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and cherished friends.
