Our dear Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and Cousin, was born on September 17, 1947, unto the union of Titus Dennis and Joanna Greene in the Township of Careyburg, Montserrado County, Republic of Liberia. She began her early childhood education at the New Series Elementary School, in Kingsville, Grand Bassa County, Liberia. She attended the Miss-Moore Mission School where she obtained her secondary education. She later pursued her life’s passion in the field of Nursing and Mid-wifery at the Tubman National Institute of Medical Arts (TNIMA), graduating in 1981. In 1982, she began her career as a staff midwife at the LAMCO JV Company Hospital in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, Liberia. She also became an entrepreneur, establishing her own pharmaceutical business and running her private practice in the city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County. After many years of hard work, she immigrated to the United States of America in pursuit of a better life and opportunity for her family.
In the USA, she worked for several medical institutions to include Stella Orton Home Care Agency in Staten Island, New York, and later retired in 2017 from the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey. Our mother was a devout Christian and lived an exemplary life of service and kindness to every community and individuals, including organizations with whom she interacted. Mom would give her last to anyone in need.
She was married to the late Charles Henry Wilson, Sr., who pre-deceased her and that union was blessed with four beautiful children; Charlene Henrietta Wilson Ajavon , Alma J. Wilson Nysather, Charles Henry Wilson, Jr., and Dr. Ellen Pinky Wilson. She later married Jesse P. Gray in 2023 and they both shared a beautiful relationship.
She leaves behind 14 grand-children, 2 great-grand children, several nieces, including Wilhemina Kerkula, Audrian Smith-Forbes, Mardia Peterson, and Vernalee Dennis, Cousins to include: Comfort Rice, Henry Byrd Jr., Elsie Mulubah, Georgia Dennis, Rufus Dennis, Joyce Richards, Albert Richards, Evangeline Page, Albert Richards, Vivian Kennedy, host of nephews and other relatives in the United States of America and the Republic of Liberia. May her soul, and the souls of all faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in everlasting peace.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday September 30, 2025 at the Church of Devine Covenant, 1481 Frosty Hollow Rd. in Levittown, Pennsylvania at 9:30 AM.
