Hneh Arwin Tarty

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the Tarty, Collins, Brooks, Davis, Delaney and Sharper families announce the death of our beloved, Hneh Arwin Tarty who departed peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, NJ with his family at his side.

A devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend, BorArwin or Uncle Arwin – as he was affectionately called – had an infectious smile and warm presence that brought joy to any room he stepped in. All who entered his home or encountered him experienced his big heart through hospitality, generosity and laughter. He will be deeply missed.

Arwin is lovingly remembered by his wife, Ilene Brooks-Tarty, and his children, Waiyoh Tarty, Kirsten Speller, Auriel Tarty, Camille Tarty and Venice Wollie. He is also survived by his mother, Cecilia Klaneh Collins-Tarty, and his siblings, Willie Edward Tarty Sr., Tuma Tarty-Tyler (Oliver), Alben David “Bush” Tarty Jr., Sarajane Tarty-Harris (David), Adolphus Tarty, Feh Arwonie Tarty (Krista), as well as a plethora of grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Arwin is preceded in death by his father, Alben David Queah Tarty Sr. and his son, Nmachee Tarty.
