With heavy hearts, the Kellogg, Turkett, Lewis, Jones and Clark families announce the passing of Vashti Leona Bendu Turkett-Jones. This sad event occurred on January 24, 2025 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware (USA).
She was well known for her love of family and country. She worked and lived a fulfilling life in both Liberia and the United States. She gave generously and positively impacted many, many lives throughout her lifetime.
Mrs. Jones, also affectionately known as “Mommie”, “Grandma”, “Aunty Vee”, “Vee” and “KA”, is survived by her children Joyce, Hans, Jackie, Magnia, Moses, and Tumu; her grandchildren, J.J., Toby, Julian, Serena, Tinashe, Melvin, Sebastian, Elisabeth, Emmanuel, Garlee, and Garlin; her great-grandchildren, Aleina and Zhiva; her sister Mrs. Christiana Turkett-Clark; her foster sisters Mrs. Idell Askie-Ketter, Mrs. Lillian Crawford, and Ms. Lucretia Askie; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends in Liberia and the USA.
