With love and deepest appreciation of her life, the Broderick, Dickerson, Montgomery, Cole, Clarke, Farrah, Wilson, Diggs, Viddy, Worjloh, Minor, Neyor, Guseh, and Frazier-Feijoo families announce the passing of their mother, aunt, grandmother, cousin and Matriarch, Mrs. Sylvia Elizabeth Dickerson Broderick (Nelson Wm. Pre-deceased) on August 23, 2023.
Mrs. Sylvia Broderick was the daughter of the late Sinoe County Superintendent Mr. Steven H. and Mrs. Susan Dickerson (both deceased), and the sister of General John Henry Dickerson (deceased) and sister of Mrs. Maii Emma Dickerson Diggs (Deceased). Mrs. Broderick was also an entrepreneur and builder, a professional seamstress, restaurateur, and an educator.
The late Mrs. Broderick leaves to mourn her loss her children Dr. Cyril E. Broderick, Mrs. Vesta A. Viddy (Dr. Viddy – Deceased), Mr. Jacob O. Broderick (Sciou), Mrs. Leona G. Minor (Rev. Dr. S. Alexander Minor, I), Mrs. Susan E. Neyor, deceased (Christopher), Mrs. Thelma A. Guseh (Dr. James Guseh, Sr.), Mrs. Anna Frazier-Feijoo (Neto), both deceased, and Ms. Jacqueline M. Broderick, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Reflection of her life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Bennie Smith Funeral Home: 717 W Division Street, Dover, DE 19904. (Two minutes open tributes are welcome. Only specific tributes will be accepted at the funeral services.) Thanks for your consideration in this matter.
On Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Calvary Church, 1141 E Lebanon Road, Dover, DE 19901, viewing of the mortal remains will begin at 9 a.m. Funeral Services will follow promptly at 10. Internment thereafter at The Holy Cross Cemetery, 631 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901.
The family will welcome all thereafter.
