It is with heavy heart, profound sadness and in a deep shock that we the James Yarsiah, Peter W. Doe, John Blidi and Minikon Weah families announce the death of our wife and daughter Mrs. Philomena Tatrina Blidi Yarsiah of Monrovia, Liberia. This sad event occurred on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the ELWA Hospital in Monrovia.
Philo, as she was affectionately called by her many friends was born August 26, 1974 in Harper, Maryland County unto the union of Mr. John Nimene Blidi and Mrs. Martha Blidi, all of whom predeceased her.
She was a 1996 graduate of the St. Theresa’s Covent School and a 2016 graduate of the AMEZ University where she obtained a degree in business administration. She was an administrator at the Center for Democratic Empowerment (CEDE). She was a pleasant, loving, and caring lady; very dependable and was a source of joy to her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Mr. James M. Yarsiah, her parents Mr. & Mrs. V. Minikon Weah, her children Romena Dennis, Stanley Fatorma and Willie Yarsiah, her siblings Minikon Blidi, Aloysius Blidi, Elizabeth Blidi and Mahdi Blidi. She is also survived by her sisters Amelia Cole, Dardree Weah, Zoe Weah-Konuwa and Worwele Weah-Wotorson; her sisters and brothers Comfort Jones, Anthony Washington, Christopher Sieh; Minikon Blidi, Elizabeth Blidi; her stepchildren Charlesetta Madee Klon, Joseph Yarsiah, Steve Yarsiah, James Yarsiah, Jr., Mother Winnie Yarsiah Williams and Deddeh Yarsiah. Philo also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, a host of other relatives and numerous friends in Liberia and America and Australia.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:
Date of the funeral: Saturday, July 1, 2023
Venue: Apostolic Gateway United Pentecostal Church, located in Newzo Community, not far from Thomas Fallah School, Paynesville, Montserrado County.
Wake keeping and Funeral will be held same day: 10:00 AM –11:30 AM. Funeral service will follow immediately thereafter.
Light refreshments will be served at the church immediately following the funeral.
May the soul of our wife, mother, daughter, niece, sister, cousin, and friend get peaceful repose in Eternity and may light perpetual shine on her.
