The Chambers and Corneh families wish to announce the passing of our mother and sister, Mrs. Lucretia Maima Daba Chambers.
This sad event occurred in Monrovia, Liberia on July 24, 2023 at her daughter’s residence on the Robertsfield highway.
The late Mrs. Chambers was born and raised in Bo, Grand Cape Mount County. She attended St. John’s Episcopal High school in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County before completing her high school diploma at the Booker T. Washington Institute. She then attended the Kakata Rural Teachers Training Institute, from where she obtained her teaching credentials. She would go on to teach in the LAMCO (Yekepa) school system, as well as Roberstport public schools for many years.
Lucretia Chambers was married to the late Louise Borbor Chambers. Their union was blessed with four children. Her two older children, Phascia (Butchie) and Roland predeceased her in 2013 and 2018. She is survived by two daughters, Maima Daba Chambers of Monrovia, and Skeeter Nance of Meriden, Connecticut.
Funeral rites over the remains of the late Lucretia Daba Chambers will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at the St. Thomas Funeral Parlour; opposite the military barracks on the Schiefflin/Robertsfield Highway. Interment follows at the Marshall Cemetery, Marshall, Margibi County.
