On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 4:20 pm, Julius Louis Weeks was pronounced dead, from an apparent stroke. His sudden death occurred without warning at the Reston, Virginia, USA residence of his former wife, Rose Piton, where they both lived.
It is with overwhelming sadness that the Weeks, Cooper, Piton, and Soudachanh families mourn and grieve the death of their dearly loved former husband, father, grandpa, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, classmate, colleague, and friend. At the same time, we joyfully thank the Almighty God for Julius’ life, for his multifaceted contributions to so many, in all its many ways, shapes and forms.
We are all grateful to God, that he reached and celebrated his ‘three scores and ten’ on 21st December 2023. Julius loved life and celebrated it with no holds barred. He lived a full life on his own terms!
Julius leaves to mourn his death, and celebrate his life, his former wife, Rose Piton, his daughter, Saira Piment “Pepper” (Ulysses), granddaughter, Aio, and stepdaughter, Nada. His other daughter, Chyam, predeceased him. Also mourning his demise are brothers and sisters: Preston (Grace), Rocheforte (Hawa), Ophelia, Lynnette, Erna, Vito (Vivian), Alex (Sombo), Angelique, Brendell, Milton (Arnette), Lucretia (Mike), Ronauld (Nigora), Terrence, Rhoda (Lionel), Rochelle (Michael), Madia (Adolf), Jarsie, Lela, and Kimmie; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, other relatives, colleagues, and friends.
His parents, Rocheforte L. Weeks, Sr., and Eupheme G. Weeks, nee Cooper, both predeceased him at home in Liberia, in 1986 and 2016, respectively.
