She worked as a secretary at IPA Liberia and the Department of Education. She worked at Forsyth County Social Services as a Social Worker and retired. She was previously married to Myer Otto, Sr. and had her only son (Nukee). She remarried to the late Steven Thompson who predeceased her in 2021. She’s survived by her children Bendu Williams Johnson (Terry) Mazoe Anderson, Myer Otto Jr., Stataria Barr (Corey) and her grandchildren. Dedrick Anderson (Gralicia), David Kwame Payne, Emani Williams, Tinya Payne, Amareon Anderson, Cydnie Williams, Cyer Otto, Hannah Barr and Brison Barr. She had 13 siblings, four of whom predeceased her- Esther Gibson, Bacchus Gibson, Leroye Gibson, Jr. and Israel Gibson. Her surviving siblings include Wadea Gibson, Etta Gibson Bishop Harris, William Tye Gibson (Towanda), Mathu Henrique Gibson, Senoa Tonia Erbba, Leona Gibson, Lydia Gibson Jones (Joel), and Lerine Antoinette Brandy (Cecil). Her aunts, Ellen Bruce Leak, Gloria Bruce Thomas, Betty Gibson, Ayede Ajavon Cox and uncle, Moses Bruce; her dearest cousin Josephine Richards; loving friends, Hawa Browne, Frances Lucia Kamarah and two special caregivers, Teresa (Tee) Walker and Kadiatu Kargbo.
