I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only, but also to all who have loved His appearing. (2 Timothy: 4:7-8)
It is with profound sadness that the Smith, Brownell, Dean, Tubman, and Campbell families announce the home going of their father, brother, grand father, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend:
Jon Alexander Nyemah Smith.
This sad event occurred on Thursday, March 16th at his residence in Oldest Congo Town, Liberia.
Brother Jon as he was affectionately called, was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School, and the University of Liberia. He also worked for the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Transportation in Monrovia until he retired.
He leaves to mourn his loss his children: Mrs. Cornelia Wede Smith-Abdullahi, Mr. Andy Smith, and Ms. Alexine Mnano Smith. His sisters Clementine Smith-Sando, Sarah Marpee Smith-Swen, Sophia Smith-Freeman, Anna Smith-Fendor, Grace Smith-Marshall, Dolly Catherine Smith, and Christine Kaddeh Smith. Grandchildren, a great grandson, nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends of Liberia, Nigeria, United States of America, and around the world. He was predeceased by his wife Mrs. Majorie Tubman-Smith, his mother Ms. Leona Dean, father Mr. Clement Wede-Sie Smith, and Step mother Mrs. Dolly Minor-Smith. His children: Jon Alexander Nyemah Smith Jr., Marjon Hnede Smith-Kolleh and Othello Smith. His sisters Ms. Laurine Wede Smith and Ms. Dolly C Smith (Baby D). Uncles; Mr. Nathaniel Brownell and Mr. John Smith, and his Aunt Ms. Grace T. Brownell.
May his soul rest in perfect peace and light perpetual shine on him.
