With profound sorrow, the Gibson, Johnson, Mason, Nyekan, Logan and Thomas families announce the peaceful homegoing of their beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, Ms. Pauline Handful Gibson.
Pauline was born on February 1, 1953, in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, Liberia. She departed this life on the morning of June 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Brussels, Belgium.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Daniel Gibson and Mrs. Iola George; her siblings, Alexander Nyekan Sr., Veto Mason, Hilary Mason James Mason, Emma Mason, Hannah Yedey and Henry Gibson; her son, Everett “Papi” Martin, and daughter, Mini Tanya Howard.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving, faithful, and devoted son, Garway Thomas Johnson, and his wife, Leachien Thomas-Johnson, Everson Martin, Conrad Thomas, Calvin Thomas and Akeem Thomas. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren: Everson Martin Jr., Elijah E. Johnson, Sasha Johnson.
She will be dearly missed by her siblings: Lysander Mitchell, Abraham and Marie Mason, Maureen K. Mason, Augustus Nyekan, Haggai Nyekan, Thomas Nyekan, Cecelia Gibson, Lydia Gibson, Felicia Mitchell, Woodrow Miller, Daniel Gibson Jr., Isaac Gibson Naomi Gibson, Dorcus Gibson, Moses Gibson, Esther Gibson, Samuel Gibson, Milton and Cheryl Thomas, Prince and Diamond Williams and Dolcia and Martin Joseph.
Her legacy lives on through a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and many cherished friends in both the United States and Liberia.
