
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that the Sheaib, Yancy and Massaquoi families announce the home going of their beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and Aunt Carmen Bendu Sheaib, which sad event occurred on Saturday, June 21, 2025 in the city of Harper, Maryland County, Liberia in her 70th year. Her father, George Sheaib, predeceased her.
She leaves to mourn her loss her children: George Hilary Yancy (Chicco); Georgette YancyCollins (Attia); Richard A. Yancy (Ricky); Vashti Yancy; Bendu Yancy-Coombs; Francis Leo Yancy and many others who for time and space cannot be named individually.
Her mother: Cecelia Kaymah Massaquoi
Her Sisters: Theresa Hawa Sheaib; Vera Sheaib-Townsend; Edwina Massaquoi; Amelia Monsernah Dahn and Melitha Gardiner.
Her brothers: Wadil Sheaib, Kamil Sheaib and Clarence Meazoe, her grandchildren Austin and Alphanette Collins (Attia), George Jr., Rejoyce and Carmelia Yancy (Chicco), nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Wake keeping and funeral service will take place at the Alfred N. Butler Funeral Chapel, Bernard’s farm, Paynesville, on Friday, July 18, 2025 beginning at 11:00 AM and internment will follow at the Emma Knuckles Memorial Lawn in Caresbury, Montserrado County, Liberia.
